I've owned and worn this same style necklace for years without tarnishing. I do keep it in a tarnish-resistant jewelry box, as I do with all my jewelry. Altho this has copper in it, it has never turned my neck green after wearing it all day...even in the hot weather. This is a very fun necklace to have. I wear all different pendants with it. You do need to have a bail larger than 1/8" in order for it to slide around the loop.
