Red Jasper is a member of the chalcedony family. (a micro-crystalline member of the quartz family.) This deep, brick red jasper is similar to pipestone - a soft red stone mined in Minnesota for centuries by the Plains Indians for the carving and making of pipes.  Found worldwide, a wide variety of named jaspers is found in the western areas of the Unites States; California, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Wyoming and Washington.

Brecciated Jasper has rich colors swirled through the stone. Warm colors of reds, browns and creams. Usually considered as chalcedony, Jasper is found all over the world.
